San Francisco East Bay and San Francisco Bay Area CodePINK Women for Peace Make a Donation to CodePINK

Treasure our hot pink presence in the Bay Area?

Want to help promote hot pink Bay Area activism?

Consider donating to help support the work of our Bay Area CodePINK Chapter!

Although we get awesome inspiration, vital direction, and creative ideas from CodePINK National, we do NOT get any financial support for our work.

So we've decided to come to you, our awesome local supporters, and ask, if you can, to help Bay Area CodePINK do our work to make this city, this state, this country the one we want to live in. By making a contribution to Bay Area CodePINK, here are some of the things you ensure will happen & continue to happen:

  1. Our Store Front & Office - keeping activism in the forefront We are the only CodePINK in California (maybe the country) with a high visibility store front on a major thoroughfare - Solano Ave - between Berkeley and Albany providing:
    • Central location for meeting, organizing, making visuals for actions
    • Place for storing supplies, materials, etc.
    • Phone & computer access
    • Place for inviting folks in off the street for sharing & spreading information
    • Place for new activists to come sign-up
    • Community Bulletin Board with CodePINK and like-minded actions displayed out front
  2. Weekly Vigils & Banner-drops - keeping the war visible & the opposition prominent We stand for an hour at least once a week holding a large banner that reads "Chaos in Iraq" and the number of both Iraqi's and U.S. soldiers who are dead. Also at vigils we:
    • Hand out counter-recruitment information
    • Engage with military recruiters, potential recruits & passers-by
    • Hand out quarter-page information sheets making all the connections to war
    • Voter registration & information
    • Get out the vote
    • Sign new activists up
    • Flyer with action and event information
We also banner on freeway overpasses during rush hours randomly throughout the month. Currently the banners say "Women say ENOUGH" and "Troops Home Now"
  3. CodePINK Truck - spreading the CodePINK message across the nation and around the state We have our very own codepink billboard in the form of a large, white box truck that has messages on each side of the truck. One side says "CodePINK women for peace & proud to be another american womon for peace". The other side says "Imprison Bush for lying to lead us into war & Imprison Asscroft for attacking our Bill of Rights" and a quote from Sam's grandmother who was 99 years old at the time: "The World wants peace; but a few men want to be very rich". The message on the back always changes, depending on what is currently happening. It began with "Thou shall not kill" to "Bush lies: Fire him" to "Cindy Speaks for ME". Check out www.codepinkjournals.blogspot.com for more information
  4. National Guard Campaign Headquarters - spearheading the movement to Bring Home our California National Guard Immediately! East Bay CodePINKers put the campaign to bring home our guard on the map! Beginning with Mother's Day 2005, we have womanaged to get several city councils to adopt the resolution, thousands of Californians to sign the Petition, AND AJR36, the Resolution to Bring Home our Guard, introduced by Loni Hancock to our State Legislature!

Our goal is to get the State Legislature to adopt AJR36 when they return to session in January 2006 - prior to our January 16th "Call in PINK because Women say ENOUGH" action at the Governor's mansion or office. We expect he will sit on the Resolution & will need our nudge to get him to sign.

We REALLY need your help with this campaign if we are to reach our goals. PLEASE donate generously.
  5. Local, State, National, Community Activism - we work in coalition with many other activists and organizations spreading peace on these many levels, participating in such things as rallies, conferences, creative actions & events, counter-recruitment campaigns, and many others.
  6. Awesome Website - we have our own bay area website! Check out www.bayareacodepink.org and sign up for CodePINK today!
  7. Some Past Actions - we have spearheaded, organized, and/or participated in:
    • Sorry State of the Union Speak-Out - the only way to stomach Bush is at a sports bar with lots of CodePINKers & creative CodePINK games to counter his lies
    • 24-Hour Read-in to Save Salinas Libraries - to bring state & national awareness of the plight of the Salinas Libraries, which were all scheduled to close
    • Mad Voter Pink Tea Party - post 'election' party to hand out pink badges of courage to all the awesome folks who stood up to the plate & fought together to defeat Bush
    • General Congress of Women Reclaiming Mother's Day - we reclaim the original meaning of mother's day & launched the campaign to bring home our California guard
    • Call in Pink cause you're sick & tired of war: join us and work one day for peace - a day to call in pink (instead of sick) and work for peace instead of money
    • Giant Pink Slip drops - we drop, from tall buildings, 40' pink slips that have messages appropriate to the event we're protesting as "fire bush" or "groper arnie: hand's off"
We want to continue and increase our work, our activism, our commitment to ending this war & spreading peace but we need your help. Please consider donating as generously as you can.

Donating is easy: you can donate on-line by clicking on this button:
or send a check to CodePink, 1248 Solano Ave, Albany, CA 94706. Or consider making a monthly pledge.

Any contribution you make will be highly appreciated! A BIG HOT PINK THANK YOU!
