California National Guard City Core Groups and City Working Coalitions
City Core Groups:
We will form 'City Core Groups' with a minimum of 3 CodePink activists, beginning in the 30 "target" cities/towns (i.e. those that have already passed anti-war resolutions) around California, responsible for the following:
- Be point/contact person/group for Regional Working Group
- Contact local cp'ers and other allies
- Convene meeting to make a plan to get resolution passed, campaign initiated in that city/town
- Form City Working Coalition
- Provide advocacy, support, direction for City Working Coalition
City Working Groups:
The larger City Working Coalition of a minimum of 10 folks will be responsible for the following specific areas (not limited to - at least 2 persons per area)
- resolution adoption by city council;
- outreach to the broader community;
- gathering signatures on petitions
- getting their legislators to introduce/support legislation
- building coalitions w/like-minded groups including national guard members, Iraq veterans, military families, united for peace & justice, peace groups, religious/spiritual groups.
